"Through the Financial Fellowship Program I was able to explore a diverse career with many different opportunities. The Program provided me with all the knowledge needed to decide whether a career in the financial services industry was a career that I would be interested in. In the end with all the experiences at the American College, in the office, and out in the field, I feel confident that this is a career I would love to continue in. The company is encouraging and facilitating my transition from a college student to a financial professional every step of the way."

The MetLife & New England Financial Financial Fellowship Program

MetLife and New England Financial, in partnership with The American College, are offering a financial fellowship experience unlike any other. In this six-week, paid program, you will be among a group of 100 college students from across the United States. Learning from the best minds in the business, you’ll gain first-hand knowledge of a career in the financial industry. Not to mention, you’ll gain vital insight into creating a personal financial plan you can use now, after graduation and beyond. If you know you want to work in the financial industry, or if you just want to explore a great career, this is the right place to start.

• Join 100 students starting in June 2008
• Earn $13 an hour to learn from financial experts in a financial services company
• Be eligible to receive up to three college credits, depending on your school’s requirements
• Join participating Fellows from around the country for a week of classroom instruction with The American College faculty

In the Financial Fellowship Program, students contribute their ideas and make an impact. One 2006 Fellow created a marketing strategy that has now been implemented at their host Firm. So, don’t spend your summer making copies – learn more, apply your knowledge, make an impact and get compensated for it. This unique three-part structure offers both academic and in-Firm learning:

• Week 2: Join Students From Around The Country With The American College Faculty:Train with Financial Services professors as well as exceptionally successful financial services professionals in the classroom

• Weeks 3–6: In-Firm Experience:Return to your Firm to apply your academic training to real-world situations with your Mentor.Choose your topic and complete the program’s Capstone Project
